Shin-shin-An
Turning a storeroom into a 4.5 tatami tea room
The storeroom on the first floor was remodeled into a Kyoto-style four-and-a-half-tatami tea room. Since there was almost no space for a tokonoma alcove, a simple style was used, with just the walls and floor and a pillar attached. The mizuya is also small, about half a tatami mat in size, and part of the corridor can also be used as a mizuya space, making it possible to hold tea ceremonies with some ingenuity.
